Western Women’s Interactions with Sexualized Spaces in Thailand
This thesis will argue that western women are curious about the nature of the Thai sex industry, and that some tourist women seek to visually explore sexualized tourist areas as part of their ‘tourist experience’ in Thailand. Sex tourism is a contentious subject area, and investigating the extent to which western women might engage with the sex industry as part of their tourist experience necessitates a critical engagement with theoretical understandings of female sex tourism. The findings suggest that western women’s desire for an authentic tourist experience in Thailand facilitates their entry into sexualized zones.
The Water Meter Reader
In the following story the facts about water are true. I did some searching and research to make the story more realistic. A big ‘Thank You’ to Estragon for editing my story and making it a much better read.

Chapter 1:
I’m Ken Nolan. I was born and raised in a small town in Ohio. I’m not a good-looking super jock nor do I hold a black belt in Karate. In fact there isn’t a whole lot most people would remember about me except I was the fat kid that played football in high school.
The sexual experiences and sexual abuse of women and girls with learning disabilities in institutional and community settings
Using in-depth interviews with seventeen women with learning disabilities, this research focuses on how the women experienced their sexuality. Attention is paid both to their consented sexual experiences and sexual abuse, as well as to other related matters such as contraception and sexual health.
The Historical Construction of Trafficking in Women
The issue of women being trafficked into prostitution has resurfaced as a matter of international concern after remaining dormant for nearly 80 years. My DPhil research investigates the causes of the resurgence of interest in trafficking in women. It compares historical debates and state policies around ‘white slavery’ with contemporary debates and state and international policies on ‘trafficking in women.’ The research focuses on the way the discourses of ‘trafficking in women’ and ‘white slavery’ reflect the construction of state/gender relations; anxieties concerning female sexuality and women’s autonomy; and Western representations of other cultures. It explores the relationship bets.veen current processes of
economic change/crisis, migration and the policing of state boundaries, changes in women’s status, women’s involvement in sex work, and the re-emergence of trafficking in women as a cause for international concern. While a significant body of literature examining white slavery
has emerged in the last twenty years, there have been virtually no attempts to examine the construction of contemporary discourses of ‘trafficking in women’. This research traces the genealogy of the concept of trafficking in women through the application of insights gained by historical research.
